POPCORN (LIGHT SONG CONTEST)

Is there a movie always playing in your mind too? Imagine going to the best movie theater in your city to watch a movie about your dream life. That's what the planet of PLURTH is all about ... a place "Where the RAVE Never Ends". We wrote this song because we're EPIC movie fans that have always dreamed of uniting all the best dance music producers around a major motion picture production. We want to tell the story of ravers but mixed in with all the mystery, grandeur, and weirdness of human history, past, present, and future. Maybe this project could start with us, @sanholobeats, and @cymaticsfm working together? Now that would be a cool sample pack right? "Popcorn" is our entry to the Cymatics.FM and San Holo "LIGHT" contest. We started with some very simple, but melodic piano and guitar loops that really stuck out to us with some subtle magic. You can tell that San probably wrote these riffs himself with that special vibrant blessing % up very high. After watching all the workshops that came with the pack, we decided we definitely needed some of that special human element of imperfection. Kahu loosened up the groove with off-grid drum patterns in the right spots for the vibe and he made a slamming beat around those original San loops. Then while the song was playing over and over in the studio, Monsoon wrote a couple of simple lyrics about movies playing in his mind and didn't hesitate to record his vocals. Layering doubles, plus a lot of mind-bending vocal FX really took this track to a unique level of fun. We're very excited to share this new track with you! It will be out on all platforms (Spotify, Apple, Beatport, Tidal, etc) on Friday, September 20th.
